Global aviation spot ranking: Qantas fifth, China enterprises ranked bottom

Qantas ranked fifth globally on time (Financial Review of Australia)

According to the Australian Financial Review, the latest on-time rate (the arrival time of flights within the 15-minute error of the planned time) by aviation analyst OAG has been reported, and Qantas (Qantas) 's punctuality rate is the fifth in the world. About 86.18 percent of Qantas' flights arrive at their destinations on time, while Chinese airlines are underperforming, with Air China's just-in-time rate of 60.14 percent.

OAG's annual just-in-time report (Punctuality Report) analyzes a wide range of global airlines and airports, large and small. The top five on-time carriers are: Latvia's (Latvia) low-cost airline, Baltic Airlines, which has a (AirBaltic), punctuality rate of 90.01%, and Hong Kong Airlines, which has 88.83% punctuality; Hawaii Airlines (Hawaiian Airlines), punctuality rate 87.24%; Panama Airlines (Copa Airlines), punctuality rate 86.38%.

Other cheap carriers on the list include Spain's Volin (Vueling), which has 85.25 percent punctuality, and Jetstar's Asia (Jetstar Asia), which is 85.08 percent on time. Japan's Skymark Airlines Tokyo (85%) and Irish Airways (Aer Lingus), punctuality rate 84.46%.

Japan has always been known for its punctuality. According to the OAG report, Japan Airlines (JAL) (Japan Airlines) and all Nippon Airways (All Nippon Airways) ranked first and second in the punctuality ranking of super-large airlines with a punctuality rate of 85.27% and 83.81%, respectively, in the global super-large airlines' punctuality ranking. British Airways (British Airways) ranked 10th with a punctuality rate of 78.55%; Air China is only 60.14%, ranking 20th.

Most of China's Aviation Enterprises are at the bottom of the list

Among the least punctual airlines, a number of Chinese airlines were "shortlisted", with the exception of Air China, China Eastern Airlines had only 61.8 percent punctuality, China Southern Airlines 64.19 percent, Xiamen Airlines 58.3 percent and Shenzhen Airlines 53.5 percent.

At the bottom of the list is Inuit Airways (Air Inuit), a little-known Canadian airline whose punctuality rate is only 44.6%.

OAG's just-in-time report analyses only those airlines that record the departure time of at least 80 percent of their flights, so many well-known airlines, including Ireland's Ryanair Airlines, are not included.

Japanese airports perform best

Which airport is the least late except the airline? Japan is again in the lead in this respect.

Among the mega airports with annual passenger reception of at least 30 million, Tokyo's Haneda (Tokyo Haneda) aircraft were the most punctual in 2017, with a punctuality rate of 86.57%. Osaka Airport's (Osaka) punctuality rate is as high as 88.45 percent at large airports (airports with 10 to 20 million passengers a year).

Several airports, including Hong Kong, Bangkok and Seoul's Incheon airport, have very low punctuality rates, falling below 71 percent.
