World's busiest flight route: Melbourne-Sydney ranked second in the world

There are two of the world's busiest routes from Australia.

Sydney-Melbourne is the world's second busiest route, with 54519 flights a year, according to OAG.COM.

The Brisbane-Sydney route ranks eighth in the world, flying 33765 flights a year.

The world's busiest route is South Korea, with up to 64991 flights a year between Jeju resort island and Seoul, the capital.

Although most of the top 10 destinations are in Asia, such as Mumbai-Delhi, which ranks third in the world with 47462 flights a year, Los Angeles-San Francisco in the United States ranks seventh in the world with 34897 flights a year.

The 10th busiest route is Cape Town-Johannesburg, South Africa, with 31914 flights a year.

All the top 10 routes are domestic flights.

Speaking of international routes, Hong Kong-Taipei routes rank first in the world with 29494 flights a year.

Kuala Lumpur-Singapore is the world's second busiest route (Flight 29383), Jakarta-Singapore third World (Flight 26876).

Asia accounts for eight of the world's busiest routes. The busiest routes outside Asia are New York-Toronto, ranked sixth in the world by 17116 flights a year, followed by Dublin-London, ninth in the world (Flight 14556).

At the same time, the Sydney-Melbourne front-line data can also add weight to Australia's demand for the high-speed rail network, easing the two largest airports and traffic pressures in turn.

A high-speed train could take only three hours and three minutes between Melbourne and Sydney, or just two hours and 44 minutes for a dedicated train.

A study found that trains with speeds of up to 350 kilometers an hour could eventually cost as much as 112 billion.

The year 2017 was confirmed to be the safest year in commercial aviation history, with the death toll for commercial airliners at zero. In 2017, 44 people died from the plane, the equivalent of one death accident every 7.36 million departures.
