According to the Daily Telegraph, it costs A $300 a week to rent in many parts of Sydney, even in cramped rooms.

Sydney's average weekly rental price is A $194, the highest in the country, according to Flatmates.com.au, a roommate-gathering website. This price can rent a full range of homes in places such as (Illawarra), Ilawara.

Woolloo mooloo, the Bondi (Bondi), and (Millers Points) at Cape Mille have higher rents, with some districts paying A $600 a week for two.

Konizby (Nerida Conisbee), chief economist at REA Group, a property company, said that because tenants attached great importance to the location, owners could charge high rents. She says tenants are generally willing to pay high rents for beaches and homes near CBD. Konizby says most people spend more than 1 / 3 of their income on renting.

Clerman (Thomas Clement), co-founder of Flatmates.com.au, says people who choose to rent with strangers are usually satisfied that "there is a place to sleep." Some people sublet their rooms because they can't afford the whole house, he said.
