The increasingly unsafe driving in Victoria is the result of violent attacks on roads.

A man who was attacked by a road mob in northern Melbourne on Saturday night is being treated at a hospital where the suspect is still absconding.

Victorian police say two car accidents occurred in the Windmil Crescent district of Grayston Park before 09:30, causing one driver to beat the other.

It is said that the suspect left before the police arrived at the scene, the injured man was sent to hospital for treatment, there is no danger of life.

The police are investigating.

Also earlier this week, six men on the Bolt Bridge attacked a truck driver, smashed the driver's window with a metal pole and pulled it out of the car.

Road rage attacks across the state have increased by 60 percent over the past four years, from 210 to 380, according to (Crime Statistics Agency), the Crime Bureau of Statistics.
