Russia's presidential election ended, 75% of the 60% of the votes counted voted for Putin


Russian President Vladimir Putin voted in Russia's 2018 presidential election in Moscow, Russia, March 18, 2018.

China News Agency, Moscow, March 18 (Reporter Wang Xiujun) Russian presidential election vote ended at 8 p.m. local time on the 18th. As of the time of China News Agency's press release, Russian President Vladimir Putin had won more than 75 percent of the 60 percent of the votes already counted.

According to the Russian Central Election Commission late in the day, the election count has been completed 60.01 percent, Putin with 75.57 percent of the lead. Gruchinin, No. 2, won 12.92% of the vote. Zhirinovsky came in third with 6.19% of the vote. The remaining candidates won no more than 2% of the votes.

According to the Russian Public opinion Foundation, the all-Russian Center for Social opinion Studies and other institutions released after the election exit polls, Putin reached more than 70 percent of the vote, far ahead of other candidates.

There are about 107 million registered voters in this election. According to Russia-China election after the election, voter turnout finally reached 59.5%, lower than expected before the election.
