A statement from Perisher Ski Resort says a female skier died Thursday morning at the resort.
The statement is as follows:
I regret to inform you that a skier died this morning while skiing at the Perisher ski resort.
Nearby ski patrols and new state paramedics have rushed to the scene for rescue.
The accident was terrible and disturbing.
We extend our sincere condolences to the lady's family and friends.
