Australians are so fond of seafood, a recent shameful study says so

A new study in the United States may have an impact on people's "houses".

A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism by the Chen Zengxi School of Public Health at Harvard University suggests that seafood-eating mothers and wives are more likely to have sex.

Couples who like to eat fish also have a higher pregnancy rate.

The study collected information on 501 couples preparing to become pregnant who recorded their daily intake of seafood and sexual behavior. Over a four-year period

Each couple was tracked for a year, or until they were pregnant.

The results showed that the higher the intake of seafood for men and women, the higher the chances of pregnancy, with 92 percent of couples who ate seafood more than twice a cycle successfully pregnant at the end of the year.

In addition, those who ate the most seafood (eating more than eight times a cycle) had a 22 percent higher "sexual intercourse frequency" than other couples.

Omega-3 fatty acids in seafood can improve the quality of semen and embryo, and promote the production of progesterone, which is helpful to improve the success rate of pregnancy.

The researchers concluded that fish and seafood may be beneficial to couples who want to get pregnant, despite concerns about excessive levels of mercury.

However, the study does point out in its previews that seafood may also be a source of "toxic substances" that can counteract these benefits.

When it comes to why seafood is associated with sexual behavior, the researchers did not come to a definitive conclusion.

Eating oysters makes sense because shellfish are rich in zinc, which helps produce testosterone.

However, the study did not monitor zinc levels in food and was therefore not sure that there was a consistent link between the two.

Audrey, the author of the paper. Gaskins (Audrey Gaskins) told Prevention the simple reason is that couples who eat more seafood spend more time together.

Australia is rich in fresh and fat seafood, is a mouth-watering food. According to data, Australians consume as much as 25 kilograms of seafood per person a year and, despite international concerns about overfishing, the WHO often recommends it as part of a healthy diet.
