Sydney car owner attention: driving mobile phone deduction of up to 10 points! New state new traffic regulations official implementation!

New state introduced new traffic regulations since Sept. 17, and drivers of cars or motorcycles will be fined A $337 and deducted five points if they use their mobile phones while driving. If you break the rules during the double deduction period (such as long weekend), 10 points will be deducted at one time!

New state law stipulates that a student, a P1 or P2 driver's license, is not allowed to use his cell phone while driving under any circumstances. A spokesman for the new state transportation administration said those holding the three types of driver's licenses could only park and then use their mobile phones.

Tougher penalties also mean that drivers with a student's or P1 driver's license will be automatically revoked for three months if they use their cell phone while driving. But P2 license holders and motorcyclists who use mobile phones illegally will still be deducted by 3 points.

New State Road Director Melinda Pavey said a government poll showed 74 percent of respondents supported further restrictions on the use of mobile phones by drivers.

For new state drivers with a formal driver's license, they can use their mobile phone while driving under certain circumstances, such as placing the phone on a stationary bracket and ensuring that the phone does not interfere with the driver's line of sight. In this case, the driver can use his cell phone to answer the phone, play music or use navigation.

In the absence of a bracket, the driver can use the phone via voice control or Bluetooth link.

The New State Transportation Administration has warned that there are risks even if drivers use mobile phones legally. "before using the phone, consider whether it is urgent, and also consider the traffic situation. The safest thing to do is to pull over and then use the phone."

The new regulations also provide a detailed explanation for the illegal use of mobile phones:

Drivers are not allowed to touch the phone if it is not placed on a stationary bracket and it cannot be controlled by Bluetooth or voice.

It's illegal to send emails, text messages, take photos, send videos, browse Twitter, Facebook and even touch your phone while driving.

It is still illegal to use a mobile phone when waiting for traffic lights or traffic jams.
