According to the Daily Mail, the fastest state in Australia is neither New nor Victoria, according to Speedtest by Ookla, a broadband tachometer. Tasmania topped Australia at an average download rate of 28.7 megabytes per second.

Price comparison website Finder spokesman Kidman (Angus Kidman) said Tasman.com may be fast because of its small population and the higher percentage of fiber-to-home (FTTP) connections.

According to the data, the average speed of the new state is 24.2 megabytes per second, ranking second in Australia, 4 megabytes per second slower than the state of Tata.

Victoria's average network speed ranks third in Australia, averaging 23.7 megabytes per second. Other states and territories also have similar speeds, with Kunzhou following Victoria with an average speed of 23.3 megabytes per second, followed by Capital Territory, South Australia. Western Australia is at the bottom, with an average net speed of 19.5 megabytes per second.

According to Speedtest by Ookla data, there are also differences in the number of tests conducted by users in Australia's states and territories, with Tasmanians testing only 264 times compared with 3120 tests for new states.
