The salaries of 28000 teachers in South Australia will rise 2.35 per cent a year over the next five years. South Australian finance director Lukas (Rob Lucas) said the "special is fair and reasonable."

South Australia's commitment to an annual increase of 2.35 per cent for teachers over the next five years and a projected cost of $6.99 billion, according to table 7, aims to build and retain a professional teaching team.

"The proposal of the government is based on a broad and productive discussion with the trade unions, and is a recognition of the important work of our teachers, the principal and the logistics staff in the next generation of the next generation," said Lucas today, the director of the South Australian Finance Office.

The South Australian government proposal also involves an additional A $45 million over the next four years to schools identified as highly integrated.

In addition, government will allocate an additional A $13 million for high-level, leadership teachers to create new jobs, of which A $4.3 million will be used to attract and retain rural teachers.

South Australia's government rejected the Australian Education Union's temporary increase of 3.5 per cent and other requirements for improving working conditions. 'South Australia's taxplayer can't afford such an excessive requirement at all,' said Lucas. The government's budget has put forward a reasonable salary increase, and the current proposal is in line with the budget.
