Meilu wants to build a 'giant Merlot jar' in Xinzhou.

There is no shortage of big sculptures in Australia, such as Big Banana or Big Merino, which are landmarks in many parts of Australia and, of course, the background in which people take pictures.

Now, another big sculpture will be built. It's the giant Merlot (Milo) jar sculpture.

The iconic Australian milk drink, invented during the Great Depression, has been in vogue since its creation in 1934, which is used to ensure that children absorb enough nutrients in their daily meals.

Melo's first production was at a factory in Smithtown, near Kempsey, on the north-central coast of New prefecture. Factory manager Matthew Oram said that when the idea appeared on social media, they had received fanatical support from fans. "our factory wants to do something to show that Smithtown is Merlot's hometown," he said. "almost one hundred thousand people support us on social media."

Most of the people who support the idea on social media are residents of Smithtown, eager to see the sculpture in their hometowns.

Irene Clarke wrote on Facebook: "the giant Merlot can sculpture should be built in the center of Smithtown, where we produce Merlot. It will bring fame to the town. "

"it's so exciting," Karen Simmons wrote. My great-grandfather worked there when he opened the factory. Matthew Oram, the plant manager, said the address and size of the giant Merlot jar (Big Milo Tin) sculpture had not yet been determined. "We are seeking advice from fans, and of course it will be great near Smithtown, and we will let the fans decide."

The giant Merlot jar sculpture will be built in 2019 to celebrate the 85-year-old Merlot production in Smithtown, Oram said.
