The most powerful passport list in 2017, Australian passport ranked 25.

The list of the strongest passports in 2017 was released a few days ago. According to the Passport Index website (Passportindex.org), German passports topped the list with 157 visa-free countries, Australian passports ranked sixth, and mainland Chinese passports ranked 70th with 57 visa-free countries. The last passport is Afghanistan.

The Global Passport Index ranking is based on the number of countries where passport holders do not have to apply in advance for a visa or visa on arrival and is calculated in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme Human Development Index (UNDP HDI). Government data for 193 countries and 6 regions were analyzed.

Swedish passports ranked first in 2016 in Germany, with 158 visa-free countries, and this year ranked second with Singapore at 156.

The top 10 of the top 10 passports are mostly established European and American powers, but among them are Japan, South Korea and Malaysia, as Asian countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand in Oceania.

Hong Kong passport ranking 17th, compared with 2016 ranking no change, can be visa-free 140 countries.

Taiwan passports ranked 31st, with 119 visa-free countries, one place ahead of 2016.

Mainland China passports ranked 70th, with 57 visa-free countries tied with Ghana, Uganda, Mongolia and Indonesia. The mainland passport ranking is four places ahead of last year.
