When you become a witness,

When you enter the witness court seat, you first swear that what you are telling is true, with particular emphasis on nothing but the truth. The truth is that there is nothing else that court wants, and the rest is left to judge and lawer.

In order not to lie or have other concerns, you can refuse to answer a question; judge can order you to answer the question as the case may be, provided that judge gives you an exemption order to exempt you from the trouble caused to you by answering this question.
