New state government reminds: 60% of policy holders have not applied for a refund of Green Slip

New state government specifically warned that the deadline for applications for refunds is Sept. 30 this year.

New state government released on Monday a refund for CTP (third-party basic insurance) in March-May this year, and some 2200000 new state policy holders have yet to apply for refunds, accounting for 62% of all insured people. The refundable amount reached A $ one hundred and forty four million nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine.

Among them, in the Chinese gathering in the three areas of Hurstville,Chatswood,Eastwood, 5,000 to 7000 or so of policy-holders have not yet started processing refund formalities.

As a result, the New State government specifically reminded that the deadline for applications for refunds is Sept. 30 this year.

Refund instructions:

If you apply for a refund, the insured will need to log in to www.service.nsw.gov.au/greensliprefund or create an account and fill out the submission step by step according to the interface that then jumps out.

Online refund time: Monday to Saturday, 5: 00 p.m. to 8: 00 a.m., Sunday full day.

Refunds estimate:

In 2017, the state passed a law to reform the third-party basic insurance scheme from December 1 of that year, reducing Green Slip costs for all vehicles except motorcycles. Previously, insured persons who had purchased insurance under the old plan could apply for a partial refund.

For example,

If your license plate expires on June 1, 2017, which means six months until December 1, 2017, your return is 50% of the difference between the old and the new plan.

If your license plate expires on September 1, 2017, which means three months until December 1, 2017, your payback is 25% of the difference between the old and new plans.

The above case is for reference only. Service NSW reminds you that the refund amount is related to the car type you own, the time of purchase, the residence and the registered address, and the specific information is based on the ServiceNSW web page.
