The whale migration season is coming, and this year the whale herd is unprecedented in size! A guide to whale watching in Sydney. Come on.

This year, Sydney's eastern part of the city will once again welcome the largest "guest"-whales. The waters, known as the humpback whaling highway, will set off huge waves and the largest migration of whales in history. About 30000 whales are expected to sail from the South Pole this year, heading north along the coastline to breed in North Queensland.

Whale migration season is coming

The whale migration season officially began in mid-May, the Daily Telegraph reported. However, many residents of Bondi Beach (Bondi Beach) have started looking for early "guests" in the sea this week. On Wednesday, two whales appeared 200 metres above (Ben Buckler Point), Cape Buckle.

Photographer Libshner (Jonas Liebschner), who has photographed whales for more than a decade, says the whale watching season always comes. The peak whale watching season will only be ushered in when people hear that whale migration is at the right time.

Libshner said they could see 10 to 15 whales a day during Sydney's whaling season, and that the number would increase to 30 to 40 during the peak season from the end of June to the beginning of July.

According to him, humpback whales are most common, especially at the beginning of the migration season: "99 percent of the whales we see are humpback whales, and we may not have seen the southern right whale until August."

Minke whales and killer whales are also "rarer".

Libshner also said that the chance of seeing the famous white humpback whale Micaru (Migaloo) this year is even more slim, with only 1/30000.

Pirota (Vanessa Pirotta), Ph.D., a marine researcher at the University of Macquarie, said the annual whale migration season is coming, and the number of whales traveling through Sydney is expected to be higher than in previous years. "this is a success story for the conservation of nature." "the current annual increase in migratory whale stocks is 11 percent, of which the humpback whale population is 30000," she said.

The South Point (South Head) of Watsons Bay (Watsons Bay) is one of the best whale watching places. The rocky rocks and the boundless sea can be seen along the headland and the southern corner of (South Head Heritage trail), which extends to the (Hornby Lighthouse) lighthouse, providing an excellent opportunity for tourists to watch whales. The Bondi Beach (Bondi Beach) Golf course, the Marks Park (Marks Park), in Tamarama (Tamarama) and the (Coogee Beach) Waterfront Walk from Bondi to Kuchi Beach are also good whale watching points.

Whale watching time

Humpback whales are most common.

Early morning is the best time, when the morning light will sprinkle on the whale's back, forming a beautiful picture.

Later in the morning, lest the sea be too dazzling.

Whale month

May-August: whales migrate northward from the South Pole to breeding grounds in North Queensland.

September-November: whales take their cubs back south along the coastline.
