Australian environmental minister Susan (Sussan Ley) recently announced that Leadbeater's possum, who was killed by threat as a result of logging, will remain on Australia's list of extremely dangerous species, while five frogs will be added to the list, the Australian news agency reported.

Susan Lee says her decision on Victoria's iconic animal, the Lee's glider, will ensure that the nocturnal small marsupial animal is protected as it needs to be, and that the animal is at risk of extinction within 30 years.

"I am encouraged that the forest industry is willing to participate in the survival protection of Lee's gliders," Li Susan said in a statement on Monday. "in fact, they have invested a lot of money in Lee's research to ensure that they abide by the terms of the regional forestry agreement."

"because of this agreement, all nesting trees are surrounded by a 200-meter barrier, which is hollow to protect populations we know and provide much-needed data about groups we don't know," she said.

Lee's gliders can only be seen in central Victoria. Earlier, it was believed to be extinct until 1961, when the gliders were rediscovered.

The glider and the vulnerable animal glider live in the primeval forest of the central highlands, where the Virginia Timber Company VicForests logging works.

Lee Susan said it is important to find the right balance between wood and protection.

"I look forward to a recovery plan that takes into account the demand for the timber industry," she told ABC Radio AM.

Senator Rice (Janet Rice), an Australian green party, said the Australian environmental minister's decision confirmed that Lee's gliders were on the verge of extinction.

"now Susan Li minister must explicitly rule out supporting the Australian Forestry products Association (Australian Forest Products Association) 's proposal to postpone the recovery plan for further 'research'," she said. "otherwise, the extinction of Lee's glider will fall on her and her government."
