Donald Trump: us troops will soon withdraw from Syria

U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday in Ohio that U.S. troops will soon withdraw from Syria.

"We beat up the Islamic State,IS," Trump said in his speech. "We will pull out of Syria, very soon. "it's time for someone else to take over," he added. "We'll take Syria 100 percent and we'll get it all back."

In a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Tembo (Malcolm Turnbull) last month, Trump said the U.S. policy in Syria was to defeat the Islamic State and then leave.

The U.S. Department of Defense said in December that the US military had about 2000 soldiers in Syria. Defense Secretary Martes (James Mattis) also said he expects the United States to send more diplomats and non-military personnel to Syria as the Islamic State retreats.
