A large influx of foreign students and a surge in the inner city of Melbourne

According to the Herald Sun, the population of Melbourne's inner city surged as a result of the influx of foreign students, the Herald Sun reported.

(City of Melbourne), which includes nearby urban areas such as CBD and Carleton (Carlton), was the most immigrant administrative area in Victoria during the 18-year period, with 8873 net immigrants, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

In the past year, overseas students account for 44 per cent of the number of net migrants in Australia.

Birrell (Bob Birrell), of the Australian Institute for population and Research, said there was strong evidence that many of the people who came to Melbourne were foreign students. Recent reports suggest that overseas students make up a large proportion of Melbourne's high-rise apartment buildings. Some small apartments attract singles.

Another area that attracted more immigrants was (City of Monash City)., a city of Monash, including Clayton (Clayton), Glenwevelli (Glen Waverley) and Oakley (Oakleigh), which welcomed 6329 net immigrants in the city of Monash in 2017-18. But 3718 people moved to other parts of Australia. In 2016, China made up 12.5 percent of Monash's population and India's 5.3 percent.

City of Wyndham is also one of the fastest growing regions in Australia, with a net migration of 4717. In addition, the population, from other administrative regions, is 5472. The 2016 census shows that the largest group of migrants here comes from India, occupying 10.3 per cent of the total population in the region.

(Whitehorse City), which includes Baushan (Box Hill) and Blackburn (Blackburn), welcomed 4317 net immigrants and 2076 net displaced people. In 2016, China's population accounted for 11.5 percent of the local population. India has a population of 3%.

(Greater Dandenong City) in Grand Danton has a net immigrant of 3940, but a net loss of 2858. The main immigrant group here comes from Vietnam, accounting for 8.7 percent of the local population, followed by India, at 8.2 percent.

(City of Casey) is one of the fastest-growing regions on the southeastern edge of Melbourne, with a net migration of 3865 and a net inflow of 5953 from other parts of Australia in 2016. 8.5% of Kathy's total population is from India and 5.3% from Sri Lanka's (Sri Lanka).

Last year, net immigration to Victoria was 85053, 1848 fewer than in 2016-17.
