Junk food or infertility? Australia's latest research: eating more fruit can improve the pregnancy rate!

Women who eat too much junk food are twice as likely to be infertile as those who eat plenty of fruit, according to a new Australian study.

The report looked at the diets of 5598 pregnant women in four countries, Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, the Daily Mail reported. Women who ate fast food four or more times a week were nearly a month slower than the average pregnancy time, while those who ate fruit three or more times a day were nearly a month faster, according to the study.

And studies show that eating four or more times a week increases the risk of infertility from 8% to 16%. Claire Roberts, a professor at the University of Adelaide, said the results showed that "a high-quality diet, which includes eating more fruit and reducing the intake of fast food, is more conducive to conception and shortens the time it takes to conceive."

Melanie McGrice, a dietitian at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, said that some women now have a low-sugar diet that reduces fruit intake. "Research shows that fruit is not only safe, but also beneficial," he said. It doesn't belong to sugar or drinks. "
