Despicable! Australian family dog stolen, demanding 10,000 ransom

French Bulldog Jersey (Photo No. 7)

A family's beloved French bulldog disappeared about three weeks ago and has to pay a $10,000 ransom to get it back.

(Chloe Scherini), a resident of (Roma) in Rome, Queensland, said his pet dog, Jersey, was taken away by strangers as he roamed the car park near his home on January 20, according to Channel 7.

Instead of dialing the collar or handing Jersey over to the vet, the thief fled with Jersey.

The Sherini family are desperate to find Jersey, not only on foot, but also on drones, and even pay psychics to find clues.

A week after Jersey's disappearance, Cherini received a short letter saying he had to pay a $10, 000 ransom to get it back.

Cherini has called the police, but the police need more information to open the investigation.

Pet theft investigator Carl (Kirilly Cull) has revealed a growing number of kidnappings of pets. Last month alone, Queensland had four French bulldogs missing.

The Sherini family have issued a reward notice that whoever sends Jersey back will receive a $5000 prize.
