A Melbourne woman said Uber had withheld $830 from her bank account and she had not used the service at all.
Hugh (Georgia Sugar) posted a photo on Uber's Facebook page asking to find out why the money had been taken away.
The unexpected deals left her with only 200 yuan in living expenses, she said, describing the experience as "the worst customer experience you can have."
"how did this happen? From June 15 to today, you have withheld 830 yuan from my account! " She wrote. "I haven't used Uber since June 7! How this level of fraud happened! To make matters worse, I have only 200 yuan in my bank account. "
A representative of the carpooling company then responded to Hugh's post saying they would investigate the unknown charges.
"I'm only allowed to add a photo and a bill on the Internet," Hugh replied. "I have 16 different deductions for a total of 830 yuan. I have submitted the form and attached a screenshot. "
The frustrated Uber user also said the bank had informed her that the problem could take four weeks to resolve.
Later, she released a screenshot, this time from the Uber support team's response.
"the deduction comes from a separate Uber account where the two accounts share the same payment," the message wrote. Our privacy policy allows us to let you know that this account shares your name and your account and hopes this reply will help you. "
