A naked beach on the north coast of new state has welcomed a large number of nudist tourists. Despite community concerns about the safety and possible demeanor of tourists, the number of tourists on the beach is still at an all-time high.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Connolmi (Debra Conomy) of the Byron Bay Nudist Association (The Byron Bay Naturists) said the number of visitors to Byron Bay in recent days was as high as 100, and the number of visitors a single time was unprecedented.

Earlier, representatives of (Tyagarah Community Association), the Tagara community association, had asked local councils to temporarily close the beach during the summer and reconsider the issue at a later date at a local council meeting in December for security reasons.

But instead of listening to the proposal, the local council reportedly plans to install CCTV cameras there.

Nudicists say a large number of tourists mean that there will be no vulgar behavior on the beach. Connomi said its association had counted beach visitors, which had reached a record 100 in recent days, the highest ever recorded by the association.

The tourists included 35 couples, 18 single men and a group of 20-somethings under tents.

Mr. Connomi said local council security measures have greatly helped to change the atmosphere on the beach, which has become relaxed and fun during the holidays. She mentioned that many tourists would come with picnic boxes, play by the sea, walk, read or sunbathe, but members of the association did not observe any harassment or sexual behavior.
