A couple in North Kunzhou were shocked Wednesday morning to find a large turtle in their driveway weighing about 100 kilograms, the Daily Mail reported.
On Wednesday morning, a large turtle appeared in the driveway of a house in (Mackay Harbour), McKay Harbour. The house is about 400 metres from the sea.
Resident El (Elzen) said her husband saw the turtle in his rearview mirror when he was backing the car. He yelled at the time that there was a turtle, and El thought it was a small animal that could be picked up and sent back to the beach.
However, she was surprised to find that the turtle's shell length alone reached 1.08 meters. She can only turn to local protection groups for help. Conservation staff took 90 minutes to guide the turtle back to the beach.
Staff member Fisher (Steve Fisher) said the turtle weighed about 100kg. He pointed out that sea turtles had weak eyesight on shore. You can usually climb 100 meters away from the sea and 400 meters away.
The turtle may have nestled on shore and then lost its way during high tides or storms.
