One World, different Air! 2018 Global Air quality report published

The most important thing you do in your life is breathing, always going on, and the quality of the air is closely related to people's physical health.

Recently, the World Health Organization released the 2018 Global Air and Water quality report, a map to make the most polluted areas clear at a glance.

Color represents the PM2.5 index of the air everywhere, green means the PM2.5 index is low, air quality is good, while red means the index is high and the air pollution is serious.

Asia and Africa are almost in red or orange! It's eye-catching!

Australia, with the exception of Melbourne and Canberra has a slight pollution, most of the rest are mainly green.

A Yale Environmental performance Index (EPI) report also ranks 180 countries and regions in the world, and Australia is still top of the list with a full score.

China, on the other hand, ranks 177, the fourth last place.

A few years ago, China's government recognized that the situation was bad, and began to use the PM2.5 in the air as an important measure of strict control.

The so-called PM2.5 refers to the small particles in the air that are less than or equal to 2.5 microns in diameter, which deposit in the alveoli and enter the circulatory system after being inhaled into the human body.

Its small particle size, strong activity, easy to carry toxic and harmful substances, has an important impact on the atmospheric environment and human health!

The World Health Organization says nine out of every 10 people on Earth breathe polluted air!

The number of people dying of air pollution every year is also as high as 7 million people. Countries such as Asia and Africa have the highest mortality rates!

The incidence of stroke, heart disease or lung cancer is also extremely high!

China ranks fifth in Afghanistan, where air pollution causes 406 deaths per one hundred thousand people.

Air pollution may be one of the causes of mental disabilities in children, according to a study by the University of Casteur in the UK.

After signing environmental conventions, China's government has also been working to improve the situation.

Beijing has continuously phased out 1200 polluting enterprises in recent years, and the total amount of coal fired has been reduced to 5 million tons. Every day, law enforcement officials monitor the pollutant emission targets of vehicles travelling to and from them, and once they exceed the standards, the traffic control department will punish them.

Of course, environmental governance is not an overnight thing, it needs everyone's cooperation-"energy conservation, low-carbon travel!"

Another look at the map shows that the red area accounts for almost half of the world's territory, and the green part is shrinking.

Australia, as a pure land in the southern hemisphere, should be cherished. No matter which country we come from, we have an obligation to be responsible for the world environment and to protect this land! Don't let this place be swallowed up in red, too!
