Uber (Uber), a ride-sharing company, warned users that the price of the Uber service would rise on New year's Eve, resulting in a fierce attack by taxi drivers, according to Channel 9.

It is reported that the Uber service has been criticized for rising prices during peak hours. After New year's Eve last year, the company's Facebook page was full of complaints. Some passengers said they were charged eight times the usual price, while others said they paid hundreds of Australian dollars.

For example, a passenger from North Sydney to (Blacktown), a town of Perak, 34 kilometers west of Sydney's CBD, paid a total of $720. In the early hours of 2015 New Year's Day was charged A $213 for a nearly 8-kilometer journey from CBD to (Coogee), in Gillon.

A spokesman for Uber said the company used a price increase to encourage drivers to work during rush hours or during holidays.

Customers in the use of Uber services, can still be informed in advance of the estimated price.

It was understood that the new state had previously banned Uber taxi (UberTAXI) from raising prices, a measure that did not change until the new regulatory measures came into effect on December 1.

During the New year, Uber will raise prices to encourage more drivers to use the software.

However, the New State Taxi Council, (NSW Taxi Council), criticised the measure, arguing that the fees charged to customers should be reasonable and should not be used to increase prices during peak periods.

It is reported that on New year's Eve Uber service prices will rise, and will continue until midnight fireworks display after 3 am.
