Melbourne Morabin Airport (Moorabbin Airport) recently suffered a tragic crash. It was the second major accident in eight years, and terrified residents called for action.

At about 5 p.m. on Friday, a single-engine plane crashed in Melbourne's Modianoc (Mordialloc) and nearly crashed into a home, the Pioneer Sun reported. The 50-year-old pilot died on board.

Resident Anionu (Sonia Anioniou), who has lived in (Scarlet St) on Modianox Kalit Street for 40 years, thinks it's time to close Morabin Airport. Always worried about plane crashes, Anionu has had enough of life, saying Morabin airport is too dangerous.

Local resident Johnstone (Melissa Johnstone) said she was aware of the high risk of a crash in which her father died in 2001. The plane usually crashes on takeoff or landing, when the pilot tries to return to the airport, thus putting the vicinity in jeopardy.

It is reported that in May last year, Kingston congressman (Kingston) asked the government to review the Morabin airport master plan (Moorabbin Airport Masterplan), to minimize the risk of pilots and surrounding residents by halting the development of non-aviation and non-wedge greenbelts.
