New state high school diploma (HSC)

Higher school certificate (hsc) is a high school diploma for students who successfully complete grades 11 and 12. It is a globally recognized education certificate and a stepping stone for students to apply to australian or foreign universities.

In the first day of the new year of 2019, a total of 81 million students entered the gate of the 2200 new state public schools. As the largest education system in Australia, the record of the number of students has been refreshed at a time.

There are public and private secondary schools in Australia. Because Australia's education is among the highest in the world, the teaching qualifications and teachers of all schools are the target. In the top middle schools, there are both good private schools and excellent public schools.

So the private school doesn't have to be better than the public school. In general, however, private-school hardware facilities are often better than public schools.

For example, many private schools have their own pool, and the class of courses is often richer.

The good public and private secondary schools in Australia are both high-quality educational resources in the local area, and the competition is very fierce, so it is generally good for the price in the surrounding of the school to be relatively high.

a tuition fee

  • In public schools, it is usually about 15000 Australian dollars a year.
  • Private schools, ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 Australian dollars per yea

In addition to the tuition fee, the school will also collect the application fees, tuition fees, school uniforms and other expenses

  • Public schools, generally from 500 to 1000 Australian
  • Private schools, generally from 1000 to 3000 Australian dollars
  •

cost-of-living

  • The new state is about 10,000 to 20,000 Australian dollars a year (Sydney).

As a result of the fact that the shortest time for Chinese students to study in Australia is not less than 18 months, students usually need to study in Australia at the latest in grade 11 (equivalent to China's 2-year-old).

  • Academic performance. For most public schools, the main study is the student's flat-time performance, while most private schools require students to take an AAS exam or an entrance examination and an interview.
  • IELTS demands. IELTS grades are not generally required, but at least 4.0 IELTS scores are required if they reach the age of 16 at the time of application for a visa. For most public schools, the main focus is on the students' usual grades, do not need IELTS scores. Many private schools require students' AEAS scores or require students to take entrance exams or interviews, which include an assessment of students' language skills, so IELTS scores are not required. But depending on the situation, if the student has IELTS grades, it may be helpful to apply.
  • Age limit. Students applying for Grade 10 should not exceed 18 years of age and students applying for Grade 11 should not exceed 19 years of age.

English requirements for studying in Australian Middle Schools

Having a certain level of English is the basis for studying in Australia. In the new state, the middle school students who study in the public school will receive the English proficiency of the application and the geographical position of the high school, which will be first received by the corresponding language schools for a period of intensive English training.

According to the students' language requirements and their English, the English-intensive centers in which they are located will develop a series of courses that will help them reach the high school entrance level within the specified time. After the end of the English-intensive course, the students can be transferred to the public secondary schools designated by themselves.

The existing 15 English intensive centres/ secondary schools in New South Wales cover all public secondary schools, including Wollongong, in the city of Sydney and the surrounding urban areas.

During the English Enhancement Center, students learn to listen, speak, read, write, and learn academic English through different disciplines, including English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art, music, personal development, health and physical education.

The higher-grade students can also study academic English through elective courses. In the light of the needs of different groups of students, schools offer a wide range of elective courses each year for students to choose.

The teachers and foreign student consultants of the English Enhancement Center will regularly evaluate the admission time, classroom performance, English proficiency and self-confidence of the students, so as to determine when the students are suitable for study in the corresponding secondary schools.

Learning in the English intensive Center can not only help foreign students adapt to the new environment more quickly, but also cultivate students' independent life and self-study ability, and lay a solid foundation for them to study in foreign countries!

The choice of middle school students to study in Macao depends on the grade of the student's admission.

Students under the age of 18 must live with their parent's visa-holding parents.

Not with the parents, can live with the recognized guardian.

Or, international students can live with immediate family members approved by the Australian Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Students in the ninth grade can also choose to host a homestay.

The host family can have the opportunity to live together with the Australian family and to learn more about Australia's culture.

All residential families have passed the "Work Permit for Children (WWCC)" and will be subject to the supervision of the accommodation family provider registered with the Ministry of Education.

After an international student is paired with a boarding home approved by a new state public school, the host family will go to the Sydney airport pick-up at the time of the arrival of the international student and provide care during the study.

Class hours are usually from 8: 45 a.m. to 3: 00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

In general, the school has 5 hours a day, 40 minutes to 1 hour each class.

There are two breaks every day. The morning tea break (rest) and lunch break will be supervised by the teacher.

Students usually bring their breakfast and lunch to school or buy food from the school cafeteria.

School year arrangement

There are four semesters in one school year and 9-11 weeks for each semester.

There's a two-week vacation between every two semesters. During the Christmas and New Year, there are five weeks of leave.

school uniform

Most public schools in the new state require students to wear uniforms. The price of school uniforms is usually A $250 / 300, depending on the amount of money students buy.

Out-of-school activities

In addition to learning in the classroom, the school also attaches great importance to extracurricular learning. The school organizes extracurricular activities related to subjects (such as visiting art galleries, museums or zoos) to provide practical field experience. Extracurricular activities are an indispensable part of school curriculum.

The school arranges sports once a week. Track and field and swimming and other sports activities help to cultivate students' teamwork spirit and good sports skills.

outside-class study

The school also has a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, school performance, music associations and clubs, debates and public speaking. The participation of these activities is an effective way for students to practice English and make new friends.

Community activities

The integration of voluntary activities into the community contributes to the promotion of the social responsibility of the students. Students will be able to develop a global citizen awareness of the importance of helping others and to reach social diversity and multiculturalism.
