Adelaide, the Glenelg house is on fire! The house is burned to carbon! Up to $ two hundred thousand!

Just after 5 am this morning, the fire destroyed a flat on Darwin St in the Glenelg North district of Adelaide, causing heavy damage. Preliminary estimate, loss as high as 200000 Australian dollars!

Police and MFS rushed to the scene after receiving the police report. Fortunately, the owner of the building had escaped, with no casualties.

The fury at that time caused the gate to be inaccessible and the side door closed. It took the firemen a few minutes to put out the fire at the front door before entering the house.

On initial judgment, fire investigators were convinced that the fire had started in a bedroom. MFS commanders said residents of the adjacent units first heard a stir and then smelled smoke.

"they heard some commotion, and some of them sounded painful."

So, when the neighbors came out to see what had happened, they found that the occupants of the house next door were on the lawn in front of the house, while the front bedroom was on fire. The fire was so big that it spread all the way to the roof!

Around 07:30, the owner of the house returned home after setting up his pet dog. Unfortunately, the house has turned dark.

At present, the investigation is continuing.

Remind everyone, although winter temperature is relatively low, but also should pay attention to fire prevention! Turn off the power before you go out! In this paper, MFS and CFS about smoke alarm maintenance, fire precautions and escape precautions are sorted out for everyone's reference only, in order to prepare for emergency.

With regard to smoke alarms, it is recommended to maintain:

Test the smoke alarms once a month to ensure that the smoke alarms work properly

Isolate the power supply before testing the battery for the hardwired alarm.

Use a vacuum cleaner's soft brush at least every 6 months to remove dust and spider webs from the outside of the smoke alarm.

Replace the backup battery once a year, or replace the battery after the alarm makes an alarm that the battery is undercharged.

Smoke alarms are limited in life and should be replaced every 10 years.
