According to the Herald Sun, two out of five Australians will no longer send Christmas cards this year, according to a survey of social trends. The biggest reason to give up sending cards is to spend and "work too hard".

It is reported that a study called Christmas Card sending trend (Trends in Christmas Card Giving) surveyed 300 adults and found that 2 / 5 of Australians will no longer send Christmas cards this year, the biggest reason being the cost problem. Or too much effort.

A survey by aid group concern for Australia's (CARE Australia) also showed concerns about environmental protection and waste were one of the reasons.

It is understood that most people give up sending Christmas cards because they feel that others no longer expect to receive them.

Although most people still think printed cards are the most personal way to express their blessings. But more and more people send holiday blessings via text, social media, or e-mail.

Three out of four respondents in the survey planned to send Christmas greetings electronically.

Riley (Howard Ralley), who cares about Australian fundraising and others, said it was gratifying that three out of five people still wanted to send Christmas cards this year. He points out that sending cards takes some effort, but most people still want to do it, which is a good sign. Sending Facebook messages or text messages is a little like a ticking choice, and to be honest, people want personalized love messages more.

The survey also showed that the older group was the most active in sending Christmas cards. As many as seven out of 10 people aged 50 or older still send cards. Surprisingly, half of the 18-to 29-year-olds said they would send Christmas cards.

Of those who have given up sending traditional greeting cards in recent years, three out of four said spending was the main reason. Two to three said it was too hard, and a similar percentage said it was due to environmental concerns. Another half said it was because they did not know the addressee's address.
