Two major supermarkets in Australia have done a good job on milk powder cans.

Several Australian supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths, have recently begun installing security devices on milk powder cans on shelves.

These electronic goods burglary-proof (EAS) cover will only be removed when checkout.

The supermarket said it was to prevent goods from being stolen.

At present, the Australian retail industry loses about A $19.3 billion a year as a result of theft, accounting for 3% of the total retail sales.

The Coles recently increased the limit on infant formula from 2 cans to 8 cans because of "improved supplies."

But the Woolworths still keeps the limit on 2 cans unchanged.
