Unhappy New year, Melbourne bus fare will be increased from 19 years on.

From January 1, public transport costs in Victoria will rise 2.2 percent, and most will cost 4.4 yuan.

Costs rose 4.7% last year and 3.9% the year before. Starting next year, full tickets a day rose 20 cents to 8.8 yuan, while two-hour fares rose 10 cents to 4.4 yuan.

The head of the Public Transport Department, Melissa Horne, said government, Victoria, had tried to minimise the increase.

Daniel Bowen, a spokesman for the public transport user group, said higher prices over the past few years had seriously affected commuters.

"few people will welcome the price increase because it has outpaced inflation in previous years, while the entire transport network has experienced a number of major disruptions, both planned and unplanned."

"the price structure causes most of the short-distance trips in Melbourne to be particularly expensive compared to other states and not competitive compared to driving."

Annual tickets for students in remote parts of Victoria from Geelong to Ballarat dropped from 465 yuan to 333 yuan and to Bendigo from 385 yuan to 235 yuan.

Students can still get PTV student ID, but this is no longer needed, meaning students don't have to pay for the card or provide passport photos to get it, which saves students 30 yuan a year.

Students can use a PTV-licensed student ID to take the bus.

From 3: 00 a.m. to 3: 00 a.m., and from 6: 00 p.m., New Year's Eve to 6: 00 a.m. New Year's Day, buses are free.

New Year's Day after 12 pm until 1: 30 a.m., train every 10 minutes there will be a bus, there will be additional flights that night.

The train runs 5-10 minutes, and the bus from downtown will run 15 minutes until 2: 00 a. M.
