It's the richest part of Australia! Will it be time to move now?

Australia's wealthiest suburbs are far from the bright lights and city views of Sydney port or Melbourne metropolis.

In fact, rural areas of northwest Western Australia earn more than twice the average income.

The average income of 13000 residents living in and around the mining and agricultural town of Ashburton was 100665 yuan, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2015-16.

For those living in a less beautiful Australian capital, the average (ACT) income in the Australian Capital Territory is $15000 higher than the national average of 47692 yuan.

Wages rose most rapidly across the Northern Territory, in part because of strong economic growth in the Greater Darwin region, with an average income 21 percent higher than five years ago.

Palmerston, near Darwin, is also a high-income area.

Weipa, a mining town in Cape York, a remote area of Kunzhou, earned an average of 81123 yuan a year over the same period.

Income growth in the Torres area was the highest since 2010-11, with median income rising 25 percent and the highest annual growth rate of 30 percent.

Australia's mining states see higher wage growth and higher average advertising salaries, partly because of the rebound in commodity prices and the desolation and remoteness of these areas, where even the majority of minors need to work.

Australian miners earn an average of $106000, more than twice the Australian average.

Sydney's seaside towns of Woollahra and Mosman remain home to the richest people in Australia. The large Woollahra region, made up of Point Piper,Bellevue Hill and Double Bay, enjoys the state's highest median income of $74076 a year.

In Melbourne, Stonington's rich districts, South Yarra and Toorak, are the richest in Victoria with an average annual income of 60483 yuan.

However, these regions also have the largest income gap in Australia.

At Woollahra,55%, where income comes from just 10% of the population, more than half are not considered "high earners", dragging down the median.

Since wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, the average income in these areas may not reflect the real income of most people.

Mosman Park in Perth's western suburbs is also one of the most unequal areas of income and wealth distribution, with only 10% of residents earning an average of $127,000.
