One top five! Queensland giant butter fruit is bigger than face! Only $12!

Groves, a family farm in central Queensland, has had a bumper harvest of avocados, which are the first giant locally grown avocados in Australia.

What is the concept of giant?

That's five times the average Western Australian avocado! The average weight is 1.2 kg, and the largest can even reach 1.8 kg. It's about the size of a face, one for the past five!

It is reported that the giant butter fruit originated in South Africa, regardless of his size, people are not genetically modified, but two sub-species of avocado hybrid obtained.

The avocado is "very impressive," DavidGroves said, while maintaining the same texture as the veal avocado.

"although large fruits and vegetables usually taste better than smaller fruits and vegetables, the avocado tastes as good as a veal fruit."

CameronPerna, a fruit sales manager, said the giant avocado was priced at A $12, and many were booked at the time of pre-sale on the farm.

The avocado can also save consumers money, Perna said, and each can be eaten for a week.

"the other day I opened one, half an avocado, with nine slices of toast."

There are currently 400 giant butter trees on Groves's farm, but they yield less per hectare than conventional varieties.

Moreover, these avocados need to be hand-packed in larger, deeper boxes, such as mango transporters, which make transportation more difficult and time-consuming.

All of a sudden I wanted to buy one and try it.
