To the autumn of Australia, and to the wind and grass

When asked about buying and settling down in Australia, many immigrants must answer: Australia has a beautiful environment and is blessed with good fortune. However, it turns out that sometimes the environment is too beautiful and not a good thing. This is not, as autumn arrives, a kind of thing that lets the resident living in the suburb hate the tooth itching, again "re-emerge from the rivers and lakes" …

1. Waking up, the grass flooded the house

That morning, Kristian Prevc, who lived in the country, woke up as usual, and as soon as he looked out of the window, he was stunned: on the first floor of his house, he was surrounded by grass!

Angrily, he posted the message on Instagram, saying: "whoever it is, please stop this prank."

But if Kristian wants the "prank" to stop, it may be a bit difficult because the so-called "prank" is the culprit, not others, but nature. Why do you say that? Because this kind of plant called "(tumbleweed)", under the protection of nature, can be said to be "unimpeded" …

2. "Weeds" occupied town

In fact, suburban residents like Kristian, who succumb to wind and grass forces, abound. I got up in the morning and saw the wind drown my car,

My yard, it's nothing new.

However, in Australia, if the suburbs may be okay, after all, the supply of grass is still very limited, if you live further away in the suburbs, it would be very sad.

A small town called Wangaratta, Victoria, encountered a large-scale invasion of wind grass, even the entire town was submerged in the wind grass, but also on the international news!

BBC also uses a word to describe what happened to the town: plush panic, (Hairy Panic).

How horrible is it? Weeds are taller than people, and even professionals have to push mowers to get into weeding.

Such a large number of weeds has brought a lot of inconvenience to life. A local resident said in an interview, "I spent eight hours yesterday cleaning up the wind grass, and then this is new today."

The residents must have been devastated by it.

Even more collapsing, the local council refused to clean up the "autumn wind" weed for residents on the grounds that, "it belongs to your private land." That's not what you said when you ordered the local residents to clean up weeds or fine.

And this fall, the wind grass problem is still haunting the residents of Wangaratta.

This year, the grass grows taller than last year and the year before.

And this time it wasn't just the house, even the local roads were flooded with this savage grass, and they even had to put up "low visibility" signs.

Leslie Weston, a botanical expert from Charles Stuart University, says there are more than 40 species of plants in Australia that are as likely to cause "plush panic" as windmills. Their causes are complex, biological invasion, overgrazing and warm, humid climates. It's all the reason they're growing up crazily.

Professor Weston warns that the weed must be removed in time, or animals may be poisoned if they eat it! In addition, she said the weeds could be prevented by using herbicides, and her team was studying how to stop the further spread of weeds.

In short, if you have friends living in the suburbs of Australia, please be kind to ta, otherwise, ta may one day be flooded with weeds.
