Posters also said Asians discriminated against whites in employment and abused Australian welfare applications for public rental housing. The poster also says: "stop Asians from illegally using Medicare cards, prohibit Asians from occupying seats on public transport."
Photos of the posters have come under heavy criticism from netizens on various social networking sites. It has been pointed out that the words on the poster are also misspelled. "I don't understand," said one netizen. "A person with such poor English still writes this kind of poster."
Ryde Mayor Jerome Laxale said he was shocked to learn of the incident and immediately sent someone to remove the posters. "A poster like this can't appear on Ryde.. We are a diverse community and we respect every member of the community. "
It is not clear who put up the posters, but similar posters have repeatedly appeared on the streets of Sydney. In February last year, (Yancheng Wang, a Chinese-American real estate developer, was put up with the same poster in an outdoor advertisement.
