Federer and short-tailed kangaroo selfie (Photo No. 7)

Thanks to the lovely short-tailed kangaroo selfie and tennis superstar Federer (Roger Federer), Rothenester Island in Western Australia last year the number of visitors reached an all-time high.

According to the report on Radio 7, in 2018, more than seven hundred and fifty thousand tourists visited Roternester Island, Western Australia, which is a welcome news for Western Australia's tourism industry in the face of a decline in international tourist consumption.

Western Australia's government said visitors grew 15 percent between 2017 and 2018, thanks to discounts on accommodation, additional ferry services and the launch of Federer's marketing campaign.

Last year Swiss tennis king Roger Federer travelled to Rotnister Island to share a selfie with a short-tailed kangaroo during a sponsored tour.

The photo then spread rapidly in 45 countries, prompting a number of star imitations, including Australian superstar Hemsworth (Chris Hemsworth), Jackman (Hugh Jackman) and Robbie (Margot Robbie).

In an interview in Perth on Thursday, Western Australia's tourism director, (Paul Papalia), said the new business, the Rothnister hotel renovation and the planned luxury camping tent resort project at (Pinky Beach), a pink beach. Will ensure a continuous flow of tourism revenue.
