Australia's biggest crocodile in decades, weighing 600 kilograms, is as long as a car!

The Daily Mail reported on July 10 that wildlife rangers in Australia's Northern Territory had successfully captured a 600kg, 4.71-meter-long giant crocodile that had been lurking near a shipyard for 10 years.

The male crocodile, aged about 60, is the largest crocodile ever found in the Katherine River in the Northern Territory, and the entire body is as long as a family sedan.

"We've seen a 4.2m-long crocodile before, but this is the first time we've seen it," North Territory Park and Wildlife ranger Chris Heydon told the Katherine Times.

The ranger said that although the crocodile was very large, it was not difficult to catch.

'when we catch this big crocodile, we always slow down and try to pacify it so we don't get bitten, 'Heydon said.

The crocodile is the seventh crocodile caught from the Katherine River-two others were arrested in February and March and are 3.92 and 3.97 metres long, respectively.

'The capture of crocodiles reminds us that even during the dry season, people must avoid swimming in streams and rivers where saltwater crocodiles are known to live, 'the ranger said.

In the Katherine River, more than 300 kilometers inland from Darwin, the discovery of a nearly 5-meter-long crocodile is extremely rare.
