According to the Daily Mail, an Australian man found some old printed Australian dollars at his grandfather's house and found the notes still working.

An Australian man is reported to have posted a photo on the Australian sub-section of social news site Reddit, showing older versions of the Australian dollar, including a $1, a $2 and three A $5 notes.

Many netizens reminded the man that the older Australian dollars were still available in some stores.

Another netizen said: "there were customers who used these old banknotes to buy drinks, but I refused because I wasn't sure if they were legal."

The notes are also reminiscent of some netizens.

"it reminds me of buying a lot of lollipops in a corner store," said one netizen, who also lamented that the cost of living was really low.

All previously issued notes are still legal tender, but some have been issued and circulated for a long time, and some retailers or the public may not be familiar with them and will refuse to accept such currencies, the bank's (RBA) said.

Ausbank and most commercial banks will replace the old currency with a current version.
