The Melbourne Museum is part of the Museums Victoria organization and is one of the most popular museums and tourists attractions in Australia. It’s also the largest museum in the Southern Hemisphere and its primary focus is to showcase cultural and natural history. It houses fossils of prehistoric creatures to the remains of unique aquatic specimens like the pygmy blue whale and the deep sea perch. There are also exhibits that detail the development of Melbourne as well as sections created by the Aboriginal Victorians that detail their humble beginnings to how they’ve integrated themselves to contemporary times. • By bus: take Bus 200/207/955/966 and get down at Argyle Square Stop; it's a 7-minute walk from there
  

• By subway: take Subway Line Sunbury/Mernda/Pakenham/Belgrave to Parliament Station; it's a 12-minute walk from there

• Adult Ticket: Age 17+

• Visitors aged 0-16 and concession card holders can enter the museum for free

• Visitors aged 0-11 must be accompanied by a paying visitor aged 17+

• Food and drinks cannot be taken into exhibition spaces

• All large bags, umbrellas, or bulky items must be deposited in the cloakroom. The cloakroom's space is limited

• You're welcome to record films and take pictures in the museum so long as they're for non-commercial purposes except in areas where signs say that doing so isn't allowed

• The museum is wheelchair and stroller-accessible

• You must abide by any warnings and instructions issued by the museum staff. For safety reasons, footwear must be worn at all times
