Introduction

Lake Cave is in the middle of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park in the southwest corner of Western Australia, about 15km from the nearest town, the Margaret River, about 285km from Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

The Augusta-Margaret River region is situated in the most south-west corner of Australia's mainland, with Margaret River and Augusta being the two largest towns in the region, near which there are many naturally occurring stalactite caves, most famously and most beautifully: Mammoth Cave, Jewel Cave and Lake Cave, all of which require guided tours.

Lake Cave is the smallest but deepest of the three great caves, with the one-way tour required to climb nearly 300 steps, with certain physical requirements, the hole as it is called, with a permanent lake at the bottom and the only one in several caves, with very beautiful views.
