Pine Creek National Trust Museum is about 90 kilometers from Katherine, the fourth largest city in the Northern Territory, and about 220 kilometers from Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory, in the town of Songxi (Pine Creek), located in the northern inland Katherine region.
Songxi is the only primitive mining town in the northern part of the northern part of the 19th century. Pine Creek National Trust Museum is the oldest prefabricated building in the Northern Territory. It was originally located in the Burrundie, the residence of the mining inspector, and moved to Songjiang in 1913. For many years, many uses have been put in place, such as doctor's residence, clinic, pharmacy, millitary hospital, post office and exchange.
Today, the building is used as a national trust museum and a small town library. Looking around the building, you can learn about the gold rush, local Chinese history, cattle hunter and mainland Telegraph Line.
