Introduction

Wharfinger's House Museum and Art Gallery is located in Derby., a coastal town in (Kimberley Region), northern Western Australia.

Wharfinger's House Museum and Art Gallery exhibits a variety of historical exhibits related to the history of shipping, telecommunications and aviation in the region, including a series of exhibits about the interesting history of the docks and the sinking of the steamboat SS Colac. There are also collections of smaller fossils, mud lobsters and termites. Wharfinger's House Museum and Art Gallery's building, built in the 1920s, has been renovated and is a classic example of prefabricated cabins of that era, specially designed to adapt to hot tropical climates before air conditioners appear.

The museum is open upon request, and visitors are required to call the Derby visitors Center (Derby Visitor Centre) for keys during the opening period.
