Tenterfield is a small town in northeastern New South Wales, close to the Queensland border, about 660km by car from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and 270km from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland.
Located at the junction of New England Highway (New England Hwy) and Bruckner Highway (Bruxner Hwy), Tenterfield is located about 1287 meters above sea level on the Mackenzie Mount (Mount MacKenzie) in the west of the town, one of the highest points of (Northern Tablelands) in the northern highlands.
