Located on the edge of Blue Mountain National Park (Blue Mountains National Park) in eastern New South Wales, Katoomba is the core town of Blue Mountain. Because Blue Mountain has become a popular tourist destination, the town's railway train station is very good-looking, and the town is leisurely and clean. The tourist business atmosphere adds vitality and almost becomes one of the most important synonyms of Blue Mountain Scenic spot.
The blue mountain line (Blue Mountains Line,BMT) from the Sydney runs along the ridge of the blue mountain section, with more than a dozen small towns on either side of the railway line, Katoomba one of them.
Katoomba town is very lively, the business mainly to the catering industry and hotels, gift shops are the most concentrated, here are mostly tourists, so the atmosphere reflected in the town is mainly lazy, leisure, relaxed and free.
The Katoomba is connected to the town of Lula (Leura), driving from the center of Katoomba town to the three sister peaks (Three Sisters), echo angle (Echo Point) of the most famous scenic spots in Blue Mountain, and the location of the sightseeing cable car, Blue Mountain Landscape World (Scenic World), which is a 10-minute drive.
How to arrive:
- Driving: Katoomba is about 100 kilometers from Sydney, one-way trip takes about 1.5 hours;
- Take Blue Mountain Line (Blue Mountains Line) from Sydney central Station (Central Station) and get off at Katoomba Station to reach the town center. It takes about 2 hours one way.
