Goondiwindi is a small town in the southeastern Queensland area of (Goondiwindi region), about 340km by car from Brisbane, Queensland's capital.
Goondiwindi is located on the border between Queensland and New South Wales, and the town is located on the north bank of the Macintyre River (Macintyre River), which is a dependency of New South Wales. Goondiwindi has been settled here since the 1840s, and the town was officially established in 1860.
Goondiwindi has a long history, and there are many ancient buildings in the town that are not listed on the Queensland Heritage list, such as:
- Goondiwindi War Monument on Marshall Street (Goondiwindi War Memorial);
- Goondiwindi Citizen Center (Goondiwindi Civic Centre); on Marshall Street
- Customs Museum (Customs House Museum); on McLean Street
- The Wyagar mansion on Millmerran Road, (Wyaga Homestead).
