Bowen is a coastal city in (Whitsunday Region), on the eastern coast of Queensland, about 75 kilometers south from (Airlie Beach), the gateway city of (Whitsundays), the Holy Spirit Islands. About 200km north from the seaport town of Townsville (Townsville).
Bowen enjoys a diversified and prosperous economy based on agriculture, fisheries and mining, and, as the northern gateway to the Holy Spirit Islands, Bowen is not as popular and well-known as Elley Beach, but it also attracts many visitors every year.
