The authorities announced the cancellation of several IELTS and TOEFL examinations in Wuhan in February to ensure the safety of candidates affected by the new outbreak of pneumonia.
On 23 January, the IELTS Section of the Embassy Cultural and Education Office of the United Kingdom announced through its official Weibo that the IELTS test in Wuhan on February 8,13 and 20, the IELTS test for UK visas and immigration, and the IELTS life skills test were cancelled. Other test sites will strengthen temperature detection and disinfection measures and allow wearing masks during the examination.

In accordance with the latest Wuhan Municipal Government Circular, we have decided to cancel the IELTS test in Wuhan on February 8,13 and 20, the IELTS test for UK visas and immigrants and the IELTS life skills test. we will arrange full refund for all affected candidates. We will pay close attention to the government announcements at all levels and work with the Ministry of Education`s Examinations Centre to decide on follow-up examination arrangements. Full refund candidates will receive the examination fee returned to NEEA account before the end of January. We will arrange for all test centres throughout the country to test the temperature of candidates and staff before opening the test and strengthen the daily disinfection measures. All staff will wear a mask, and we also allow and advise candidates to wear a mask during the examination.
