After protracted pay negotiations with government, Tazhou nurse will get a raise.

During the protracted pay negotiations, the Tazhou Public sector Union has been demanding a 2.5 percent pay rise and is reluctant to accept the 2.1 percent raise offered by the Liberal Party (Will Hodgman) government, the Australian news agency reported.

However, Australia`s nurse and midwife alliance (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation) said today that Tazhou nurse and midwifery groups have voted to agree to government`s one-year pay increase agreement.

Trade union secretary Shepherd (Emily Shepherd) told the media that about 80 percent of union members voted in support of government`s proposal and that the pay increase could take effect on December 1 last year. Government once threat said it would be cancelled if the pay rise proposal was rejected.

Tazhou Health Director Courtney (Sarah Courtney) said that once the pay increase agreement is formally signed, some nurse will receive a replacement salary of more than A $1000.

Tazhou government and nurse unions will also restart negotiations to reach a longer-term pay deal.
