Western Australia plans to build monuments to 239 victims of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in Perth, but the plan has been opposed by the families of many of the victims, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
It is reported that Western Australia goverment plans to spend A $ one hundred and twenty five thousand on the Elizabeth Wharf (Elizabeth Quay) memorial to commemorate the missing MH370 passengers and crew. But the plan was opposed by the families of Malaysia Airlines 370s victims, who pleaded with Australia`s prime minister and Western Australian goverment to abandon the plan.
Families believe it is too early to set up the monument and the location chosen is not appropriate, and more importantly, they have not been consulted on the matter.

Jiang Hui, 44, is from China, and his mother is one of the passengers of Malaysia Airlines. Jiang Hui said that the monument in China represents a very significant significance. Usually it is only after the end of an event that a monument is erected in memory of the past. But so far, they have not found the whereabouts of the missing passenger plane and relatives.
Keane (Sher Keen), chairman of (Aircrash Support Group Australia), an Australian air disaster support group, sent a letter to the prime minister earlier than New Year`s Day protesting the plan. Relatives, she said, saw no point in setting up a monument in Perth now. Keane said the prime minister has yet to respond, and relatives of the victims are waiting for a response.
