Perth City Council is reported to have designated 28 women-only parking spaces in the CBD area. Mir Khan (Martin Mileham), director of the city council, said the 28 parking spaces were equipped with brighter lights, emergency help buttons and closer to the parking lot exit, helping to provide a safer environment for women drivers.

However, data show that when women are in a dark, closed parking lot, their safety concerns are very worrying.
